Clayton and Johnston County

Johnston County has had a population grown 15% to 250,000 residents since 2020. And that explosive growth was shared by all eleven Johnston County municipalities, each expanding by at least 10%. The city of Clayton led this massive grow at 19% and is now close to 32,000 residents in the city. Clayton is the closest Johnston County municipality to Raleigh in Wake County. Novo Nordisck (a Pharmaceutical Manufacturer) is one of Johnston County's largest employers and investors with a 4.1 billion dollar expansion project in Clayton. Clayton's downtown area has something for everyone including a brewery, roof top dining and a Saturday Farmers Market.
